The Maxi Guard Pro has an in-built six-point harness that holds your child firmly in place, offering greater support through the shoulders, hips, and torso. Children should use a harness booster seat until they outgrow the maximum height markers, as boosters provide far better protection than an adult seat belt alone. Most children will need a booster until around 10–12 years old, and they should only move out of a booster seat to an adult seat belt once they pass the ‘5 step test’. You should be able to answer yes to the following 5 questions for your child to travel without a booster seat:
1. Can my child sit with their back against the vehicle seat?
2. Do my child's knees bend over the edge of the seat?
3. Does the sash part of the seat belt sit across the middle of my child's shoulder (not on their neck or near their arm)?
4. Is the lap part of the seat belt sitting low across my child's hips and touching their thighs?
5. Can my child stay safely seated like this for the whole trip?
