Did you know? Height is the most important factor when deciding if your child is ready to move out of a booster seat.

Did you also know? Cars are designed for average-sized adults—not children. This means your child must be a minimum of 145cm before they can safely transition from a booster to the vehicle’s adult back seat..

Many children are moved into adult seat belts far too early. Just like infants and toddlers, older children are still at risk of serious injury in the event of a crash. Adult seat belts are engineered for bodies 145cm and taller, but height alone isn’t enough—you also need to assess how safely your child sits in the seat.
To ensure the seat belt fits correctly, we recommend using the 5-Step Test before moving your child out of their booster seat.

The 5-Step Test: Is Your Child Ready?

Your child should remain in a booster seat until they pass all five steps:

➊ Can your child sit with their back against the vehicle seat?

➋ Do your child's knees bend in front of the edge of the seat cushion?

➌ Is the lap belt sitting low across your child's hips and touching their thighs?

➍ Does the sash belt sit across the middle of your child's shoulder?

➎ Can your child stay seated correctly like this for the entire trip without slumping?

If the answer to any of these questions is no, your child still needs their booster seat for proper protection.
